• To play MP3 on amaroK
  • # yum install gstreamer-plugins-ugly
• To install XMMS and play mp3 on XMMS

Firefox and PDF's

If you cannot open pdf's, you may have to delete or edit pdf entries in pluginreg.dat. It can be found at /home/username/.mozilla/firefox/pluginreg.dat or use slocate to find all offenders. MozzPlugger can also interfer and it's configuration file is at /etc/mozpluggerrc. Delete, comment out, or edit the pdf entries. I personally erase pluginreg.dat, and then commented out pdf entries in mozpluggerrc. I removed the plugin extension from firefox that was downloaded as an addon. pluginreg.dat will rebuild itself automatically so you may have to delete it repeatedly as you tshoot pdf loading errors/problems… The mozplugger man page pushed me into the right direction on this issue.
